Introduction to Meditation
Are you new to meditation?
Want to deepen your existing practice?
Bring this workshop to your organization, yoga studio, or private one-on-one instruction! Learn the science, philosophy and practical applications of meditation. Participants will be given the tools needed to establish the groundwork for a sustainable home practice. This program introduces you to several meditation techniques from the yogic and Buddhist traditions, including:
o Meditation on the breath
o Loving-kindness meditation
o Mantra meditation
Participants will be introduced to those above meditation practices and the principles on which they are based. There will be periods of silent sitting as well as discussions. This workshop will provide a foundation to apply mindfulness practices into your daily life. *Please note that this is NOT a yoga class. Please dress in comfortable attire AND bring a cushion, blanket or folding chair.
